Chateau Dereszla was established in 1992 by CANA (France), and the great change has come in 2000, when the D'Aulan family purcased the winery. This assures the wines to belong to the highest quality products of the world. The Dereszla Winery is in the ownership of the D'Aulan family, part of the Edonia group. To this group also belongs the Bordeaux Estates of the family (one in Saint Emilion and one in Saint Estephe), and the Argentin Estate, the Alta Vista.
The new owner stated a great development in terms of establishing the technical background, and renovating the cellar.
The potential of the cellar is excellent, it can be approached easily, and above the cellar there is a slope that covers it with about 30 m high soil. Therefore the climatic characteristics are great. The annual temperature is around 12C, the annual fluctuation is 1-2%, the humidity is 85-90%.
To the Dereszla 5 different cellar belonged, they were linked and now the cellar is 1100m long. The cellar is about 4-500 years old. The cellar wasn't large enough for the workers to work effectively, so it was deepened with 30cm, and the walls around were cut down 1.5-2 cm. This helped the Cladosporium Cellare to develop a healthy layer on the walls.
The two old building of the wine shop is part of the world heritage.
